Tested the latest versions of the following distros (as of May 2025), Deepin is the only one that can smoothly install Sogou Input Method:
- Xubuntu (cannot automatically recognize WiFi)
- Zorin OS (same as above)
- MX Linux (can automatically recognize WiFi)
- Deepin (comes with Sogou, WiFi not recognized)
Among the Ubuntu-based distros, most can recognize WiFi by selecting to install third-party drivers during installation, but Deepin cannot. This machine's wireless network card is BroadCom 4360 rev3, and according to the forum, Deepin's WiFi with sudo apt install broadcom-sta-dkms
still does not work. In fact, just sudo apt install broadcom-sta-*
is sufficient, as there are a total of 3 packages. Some older versions online require reinstalling bcmwl-kernel-source
, which is not present in v25.
